Nightfighter 1 summary
The Night Fighter course is a single evening, one-of-a-kind course designed to introduce students to the setup and tactical use of night vision goggles (NVGs), infrared (IR) laser sights, and illuminators used for tactical operations. During this course of instruction, students will be given the practical hands-on training needed to understand the proper function, setup, and tactical application of their night fighting equipment. Topics covered will include laser safety and sight zeroing procedures coupled with practical equipment lessons that will include the correct operation and fitting of night vision goggles, infrared aiming lasers and illuminators, helmet adjustments, proper mounting for tactical use, as well as appropriate weapons setups for combat night operations. Night Fighter’s live fire range training will include instruction on multiple methods of zeroing combat optics and laser sighting systems. Once lasers and optics are zeroed, students will be introduced to night patrolling, small unit tactics, inter-squad communications, and IR signaling.
